Muscovites are set to enjoy scorching summer temperatures until the end of the week, Russia’s Weather Center chief Roman Vilfand announced Monday.
The city is set to warm up to a sunny 26 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, with thermometers expected to creep up to 30 and 33 degrees by Thursday.
The temperatures, which could exceed the July average by 5-7 degrees, are being brought to the city by an anticyclone, the Interfax news agency reported.
The spell of hot weather will be followed by thunderstorms, one of which is most likely to hit certain parts of Moscow on Tuesday. Intense hail and wind are expected.
